Virtual Museum

Battro,VirtualMuseum

I like how the author compares the condition of the virtual museum to photography. The reproduction changes people’s attitudes toward art and enlarges the trivial part in the original pieces. With the development of virtual museums, scholars and visitors can do more in-depth studies individually and remotely. It will push the relationship between the museum and the public to the next level.

Wilson,BehindTheScenesOnlineMuseum

In this article, the author reinforces the nature of the “intertextuality” of the online museum. It has to be based on the actual museum and the museum’s discourse. Since both online and the real museum presented comes from the top down, it lacks the participation and thought-provoking process to the visitor. There is an urgent to reconsider and recreate the way displaying virtual museums.
